Her groundbreaking journey in the United States Navy commenced as one of the initial 80 women to be integrated into the men's Boot Camp at Great Lakes, IL. Her resilience and leadership qualities shone brightly as she subsequently led Company 389 in the Graduation Parade, setting a precedent for gender integration and breaking barriers in military service.
During her tenure in the U.S. Navy, she served as a Hospital Corpsman on the Hospital Ship USNS Comfort, where her medical expertise and dedication played a vital role in providing healthcare to those in need.
