Route 6 Ramp closures begin October 20
MassDOT will implement temporary overnight closures of the Route 6 Eastbound to Route 79 Southbound and the Route 79 Northbound to Route 6 Westbound ramps beginning on or about Monday, October 20 from 9 PM each night to 5 AM the following morning. These closures will be in place nightly as needed for paving work on Route 6 Eastbound and Westbound ramps. Traffic will utilize the following detour routes:
Route 6 Eastbound to Route 79 Southbound:
- While traveling on Route 6 Eastbound, stay in the left lane to pass the Route 79 Southbound exit and continue onto Route 79 Northbound.
- In approximately 0.5 miles, take the exit to North Main Street.
- Turn left onto North Main Street and travel north for 0.2 miles and then turn right onto Route 79 Southbound.
- Continue approximately 1 mile south on Route 79 Southbound and continue to your destination.
Route 79 Northbound to Route 6 Westbound:
- While traveling on Route 79 Northbound, continue past the Route 6 Westbound exit for approximately 0.5 miles and take the exit to North Main Street.
- Turn left onto North Main Street and travel north for 0.2 miles and turn right onto Route 79 Southbound.
- Continue approximately 0.5 miles south on Route 79 Southbound and take the Route 6 Westbound exit to continue to your destination.
Final configuration of Davol Street northbound between Turner Street and President Avenue is now in place
MassDOT has implemented the final configuration of Davol Street Northbound between Turner Street and President Avenue. The new configuration will shift traffic traveling on Davol Street Northbound slightly west beginning August 15. Traffic will then continue north on Davol Street Northbound.
Lindsey Street final configuration is now in place
MassDOT has implemented the final configuration for Lindsey Street. This configuration will only allow vehicles to travel one-way northbound, traffic will no longer be able to travel southbound on Lindsey Street. Additionally, the right turn from Route 79 northbound to Brownell Street is permanently closed.
