Traffic and construction updates - West Roxbury Parkway bridge replacement

Overview of construction operations and impacts for the West Roxbury Parkway Bridge Replacement Project.

Look-ahead: June 19–July 3, 2026

Travel impacts

Over the next two weeks, drivers should expect lane narrowing and shifting on the bridge, on West Roxbury Parkway, and at the Belgrade Avenue intersection, as needed. As work impacts sidewalk access, a detour redirecting pedestrians will be in place.

Operations

Over the next two weeks, the Contractor will be working daytime hours (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM) and nighttime hours (11:00 PM to 5:00 AM) within the work zone on the roadway. Work will take place Monday through Friday. Daytime activities may include:

  • Forming and Concrete placement under the bridge
  • Curing concrete
  • Stripping forms and cleanup under the bridge

Nighttime work will take place Thursday, June 25. Nighttime activities may include:

  • Concrete placement

Overall project status

The Contractor is performing work substructure refacing below the bridge.

Travel tips

Please take care to pay attention to all signage as it is posted. Police details, changes in lane markings, temporary controls such as barriers and traffic cones, signage, and other tools will be used throughout the project to control traffic and create safe work zones within the project limits.
