Complaints against your license
Information that the Board of Nursing gathers during its investigation of a complaint against your license is subject to Public Records Law, Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 66. Upon a public records request, records will be produced in compliance with Public Record Law unless the information falls within an applicable exemption, including but not limited to exemptions discussed in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 66 and Chapter 4, section 7.
Summary of complaint process
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) has produced a video Board of Nursing Complaint Process: Investigation to Resolution that may help you understand the complaint process.
NCSBN is an independent, not-for-profit organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting public health, safety, and welfare.
