Learn about maintaining your SDO certification

Once certified by Supplier Diversity Office, your certification must be renewed every three years.

Renew Your Certification (Every 3 Years)

You must renew your certification every three years using the SDO Portal.

  • Renewal is completed online only 
  • All documents must be uploaded to the portal 
  • You will get a reminder email about 30 days before your certification expires 

What to do:

  1. Log into the SDO Portal 
  2. Complete the Renewal Affidavit 
  3. Upload all required documents listed in your reminder email letter

Note: Your certification will expire after 3 years if it is not renewed on time, and your business will be removed from the SDO Directory.

Withdraw Your Certification

If you no longer want your certification or your business is closed:

Include your company name and request to withdraw certification 

Decertification (Reapplying or Reopening)

If you were decertified MORE than 1 year ago:

  • You must reapply as a new applicant 
  • Watch the required Pre-Certification Webcast (In-State or Out-of-State depending on location) 

If you were decertified LESS than 1 year ago:

Update Your Contact Information

Keep your business contact info up to date.

To update:

  • Log into the SDO Portal 
  • Go to “Change My SDO Profile” 
  • Update address, phone, email, website, etc. 

No portal account? Email: webmaster.sdo@mass.gov 

Change Your Business Name or Address

Name change:

  • Submit documents through the portal (not email) 

Steps:

  1. Prepare a signed letter on company letterhead explaining the name change 
  2. Log into the portal 
  3. Go to “Critical Material Changes” 
  4. Upload your letter and documents 

Update Your Business Description / or Add New Category Services

If your business services change or expand:

Steps:

  1. Log into the SDO Portal 
  2. Go to “Critical Material Changes” 
  3. Enter your old and new business description 

Upload:

  • Statement explaining the change 
  • 3 invoices showing related work 
  • Any required licenses 

Substantive Review (Certification Checkup)

At certain times, SDO will review your certification to confirm you still qualify.

You will need to:

  • Submit a recertification application 
  • Upload required documents 
  • Submit at least 45 business days before your certification expires 

An SDO specialist will review your file and make a recommendation on your certification.
