New Background Record Check Information, Policies and Regulations

In August 2018, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts passed legislation that updates the Department of Early Education and Care’s (EEC) Background Record Check (BRC) requirements, consistent with new federal mandates for EEC programs.  EEC is making changes to the BRC process in accordance with state and federal law. The changes are being phased in over a two year period starting on October 1, 2018. For more information on changes to EEC's BRC process, please review EEC's Guide to the New BRC Requirements.
