Massachusetts Caregiver Coalition

The Massachusetts Caregiver Coalition is a partnership of leading employers, advocates, and government allies united by a shared commitment to supporting family caregivers in the workplace.

What we do

We believe that every employer in Massachusetts has a role to play in recognizing, honoring, and empowering the caregivers in their workforce.

To meet employers to become more caregiver-friendly—whether they’re just beginning or already leading the way. The Coalition does this by:

  • Highlighting the needs and economic impact of employee caregivers;
  • Sharing best practices across all industries and business sizes;
  • Championing supportive policies; and
  • Fostering a culture of inclusion and empathy for caregivers across every sector of the economy.

Our history

The Coalition was launched in 2019 by the Massachusetts Business Roundtable (MBR). In 2024, leadership transitioned to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, aligning the Coalition more closely with the Massachusetts Workforce Agenda. This agenda recognizes caregiving as a critical workforce issue and emphasizes supporting workers through a whole-of-government approach that addresses the cost and impact of caregiving.
