What we're doing

We are building a centralized micromobility hub for Massachusetts communities.

This hub brings together practical tools, guidance, and educational materials to support safe and informed micromobility use.

This hub will continue to grow. Current resources include links to the Special Commission on Micromobility report and summary; a recorded Micromobility 101 webinar; frequently asked questions; and outreach materials that can be used locally for municipalities, organizations, and individuals.

Why we're doing it

Massachusetts is seeing rapid growth in micromobility use.

Many municipalities and residents are looking for clear, simple, and consistent guidance around micromobility.

This work supports recommendations from the Special Commission on Micromobility, including proactive public education (Recommendation 7).

Our goal is to make it easier for communities to promote safe riding and informed micromobility decisions.

What we hope to learn

We are testing whether these centralized, ready-to-use resources help:

  • Improve public understanding of micromobility devices
  • Support safer riding behaviors
  • Reduce confusion around rules and device types
  • Enable municipalities to run their own outreach efforts

We will evaluate what materials are used most and where additional support is needed.

Who is the Micromobility Hub is for?

This hub is designed for:

  • Municipal staff and local agencies
  • Councils on Aging and community organizations
  • Educators and outreach coordinators
  • Residents interested in micromobility

The content is designed to be simple, accessible, and easy to share.
