- Berkshire District Attorney's Office

Pittsfield — After spending the day together at a summer orientation at Ramblewild, the District Attorney’s Youth Advisory Board was ready to get down to business at their first meeting of the school year.
Created in 2008, the Board engages high school students to lend their voices and ideas to the District Attorney’s Office youth-focused educational initiatives in order to strengthen the prevention message and develop deeper connections with the students being served.
School administrators select two junior or senior students to serve on the Board to represent each high school in Berkshire County. The partnership and support from schools in the selection process ensures that the Board makeup includes a diverse group by gender, race, background, and academic, social, and extracurricular interests.
District Attorney Caccaviello said, “It was my pleasure to meet and welcome these wonderful students to the Office, and I look forward to seeing the amazing prevention work and mentorship programs they will plan and participate in for younger students in our community.”
The Board has been praised for its work throughout the last several years for effectively promoting safety and wellness messages that support younger students in making positive choices.
