Richard Banks, a U.S. Navy veteran, has dedicated his life to service—first in the military, then in his career, and now in his community. After retiring to Cape Cod, he revitalized a meal program at St. David's Episcopal Church in South Yarmouth, transforming it into a thriving take-home meal initiative that now provides nearly 300 monthly meals to those in need.

Richard secured funding from organizations like Cape and Islands United Way and Cape Cod 5 while forming partnerships with local stores to provide essential food items. His program also offers additional support, including dental care, nursing assistance, and access to vital resources.

Throughout challenging and uncertain times, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, Richard ensured that meals were always available. As Richard and his wife Kathleen approach their 50th wedding anniversary, their commitment to service continues to inspire, proving that the spirit of giving back lasts a lifetime.
