  • Operational Services Division

Beginning April 24, 2026, public entities in the U.S. that serve 50,000 or more people must ensure their websites, mobile apps, and digital content are accessible to individuals with disabilities in compliance with ADA Title II.

In Massachusetts, this means state and local government entities must ensure that web pages and electronic documents, such as PDFs, videos, and social media content, are accessible under the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Levels A and AA.

Public entities serving fewer than 50,000 people have until April 26, 2027, to meet these standards.
