“As our country faces a culture of pervasive gun violence, Massachusetts is taking enormous strides to protect public health and safety. This nation-leading bill prohibits untraceable ghost guns, bans devices that convert guns into automatic weapons, creates provisions that help keep people in crisis from harming themselves or others, and strengthens requirements for obtaining a license to carry. This historic measure would not have been possible without the work of Speaker Mariano, Senate President Spilka, Chair Day, and Senator Creem, and I’m proud of the role the AG’s Office had in informing this legislation,” said Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell. “And to those whose lives have been directly impacted by gun violence, who have turned their unimaginable pain into purpose, thank you. It’s your stories that have helped shape solutions and will continue to inspire our work.”
