Press Release  Allison sent to prison after pleading guilty

PITTSFIELD — A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  45 year old RUSSELL J. ALLISON a/k/a RUSSELL JACK ALLISON appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

ALLISON pleaded guilty to one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2^nd offense), one (1) count of POSSESSION OF HEROIN (2^nd offense) and one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE (2^nd offense) in connection with a motor vehicle incident in Pittsfield on December 23, 2015.   

ALLISON also pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A LOADED FIREARM and one (1) count of ARMED CAREER FELON.  Those charges stem from an incident in Pittsfield on October 4, 2016. 

Judge Agostini ordered that ALLISON serve a 4 to 5 year state prison sentence at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the ARMED CAREER FELON charge.  He was given a concurrent 2 to 3 year state prison sentence on the charge of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2^nd offense).  ALLISON was ordered to serve concurrent house of correction sentences on the other charges.    

One (1) count of ASSAULT BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigations were conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
