In preparation for our 2023 Annual Enrollment, the GIC mailed GIC members a letter in March containing important information regarding the upcoming Annual Enrollment and changes for insurance benefits effective July 1, 2023.

The new plan year marks the beginning of a new health insurance contract cycle, and because of this, and the merger of Tufts Health Plan and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care into Point32 Health, there are changes to several benefits for the plan year beginning July 1, 2023. The GIC encourages all members to actively shop and evaluate their health coverage options during our Annual Enrollment, which runs April 5 – May 3, 2023.
Please carefully review the GIC Benefit Guides as well as detailed benefits information for each insurance carrier to assist you in making informed decisions about your coverage. After evaluating your options, if you do not want to select a different health insurance plan during Annual Enrollment, no further action is needed. However, if you want to select a different plan, be sure to submit your changes to the GIC no later than May 3, 2023.
