Press Release  Auditor Bump Appoints George DiTomassi to Serve on Inspector General Council

On February 4, 2016, State Auditor Suzanne M. Bump appointed George DiTomassi, Jr. as a member of the Inspector General Council. The ceremony took place in Bump’s State House office.

Auditor Bump administers the oath of office to here Inspector General Council appointee George DiTomassi, Jr. at the State House

Boston — On February 4, 2016, State Auditor Suzanne M. Bump appointed George DiTomassi, Jr. as a member of the Inspector General Council. The ceremony took place in Bump’s State House office.

DiTomassi, a Longmeadow resident, will serve on the eight-member board for a term of three years. Bump chairs the Council.

The Inspector General Council meets with the Inspector General at least quarterly and provides consultation and assistance as needed. The council also sets the salary for the Inspector General position and conducts the annual performance review.

DiTomassi spent 50 years working for Milton Bradley, which was later purchased by Hasbro. In addition to his business and management experience, DiTomassi has been involved in numerous community and civic organizations advocating on behalf of youth, the arts, and the business community.

DiTomassi is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts – Amherst and served in the United State Army as a Finance Officer where he was honored as a Distinguished Military Graduate. He also graduated from the Advanced Management Program of Harvard College and received an honorary Doctorate from the University of Massachusetts.
