Barnstable Probate & Family Court Probation employees along with their dogs, participated in the Blueberry 5K Road Race, an annual community event which supports the Cape Cod Challenger Club in Osterville. The event also includes a pie eating contest.
The Club provides "free athletic, social, and recreational activities for kids and adults with special needs, and promotes year-round healthy, active lifestyles, fosters inclusiveness, social interaction, and personal growth," according to its website.
"Barnstable Probate & Family Probation is dedicated to supporting the children and animals in their community," said Barnstable Probate & Family Court Probation Chief Donna Feinberg Rachwal.
In addition to Chief Feinberg, the other participants included Probation Officers: Megan Connolly, Christopher Martin, Amie Scannell, Elizabeth Chiarenza, and Jordan Gardiner as well as Assistant Chief Christopher Hercun. ACPO Hercun participated in the pie eating contest and took first place for the men's division!
All proceeds from the Blueberry Pie 5K, one mile run, and related activities go directly to the Challenger Club’s mission, and 100% of the funds remain in the local community, according to the club.
