PITTSFIELD — A Springfield man was arraigned this morning in Berkshire Superior Court on drug and firearm charges. 21 year old QUAMEL J. BATCHELOR (29 Noelle Street) appeared before Judge Daniel Ford.
BATCHELOR had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM DURING THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY, one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A LOADED FIREARM and one (1) count of IMPROPER STORAGE OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN. Judge Ford ordered that he be held at the Hampden County House of Correction on $1,000 bail.
The charges stem from a motor vehicle stop, in Pittsfield, on January 31, 2018.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department and State Troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force.
