Press Release  Beauchamp pleads guilty, sent to prison

PittsfieldA Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  29 year old NICHOLAS Y. BEAUCHAMP appeared before Judge John Agostini.

BEAUCHAMP pleaded guilty to five (5) counts of BREAKING AND ENTERING IN THE NIGHTTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY, five (5) counts of LARCENY FROM A BUILDING, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE and one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE.  Judge Agostini ordered that he serve concurrent 2 and a half to 4 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction.           

BEAUCHAMP broke into O’Brien’s Market, in Lenox, on August 4, 2017 and The American Legion, in Pittsfield, on August 20, 2017, the Becket General Store, in Becket, on September 3, 2017 and Angelina’s Sub Shop, in Pittsfield, on September 15, 2017 taking ATM machines from those locations.  He also broke into O’Laughlin’s Pub, in Pittsfield, on September 11, 2017 taking money from the business. The other charges stem from BEAUCHAMP’S arrest, in Pittsfield, on September 28, 2017.       

One (1) count of CARRYING A DANGEROUS WEAPON was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.

The investigations were conducted by members of the Pittsfield, Lenox and Becket Police Departments and state troopers assigned to the Lee barracks.
