Stacy Deveau, Boston Municipal Court (BMC)-Central, ran in the New York City Marathon on November 4th as a personal guide for Simon Isakov, a blind 29-year-old music teacher who lives in New York City. Today, Friday, November 22nd, marks their 4th year of running together.

Assistant Chief Deveau is a volunteer for Achiles International and serves as a personal guide for blind athletes, those with limited sight, traumatic brain injuries, amputees, non-verbal autism, and others with challenges during events such as the New York Marathon, Boston Marathon, triathlons, and other races and competitions.

“This was my first ever New York City Marathon and his 4th time running in this marathon. Simon beat his personal best by one hour and four minutes from last year’s marathon,” said Assistant Chief Deveau, a long-time athlete who has volunteered with Achilles for the last three years.
