Press Release  Brazeau pleads guilty to sexual assault and other charges

PITTSFIELDA North Adams man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  50 year old HENRY G. BRAZEAU appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

BRAZEAU pleaded guilty to three (3) counts of INDECENT ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A PERSON WHO HAS ATTAINED 14 and two (2) counts of CARETAKER ABUSE ON A DISABLED PERSON.  Judge Agostini ordered that he serve 196 days of a 2 and a half year sentence to the Berkshire County House of Correction on one (1) count of CARETAKER ABUSE ON A DISABLED PERSON.  BRAZEAU was placed on probation for 2 years on the other charge of CARETAKER ABUSE ON A DISABLED PERSON.  During the probationary period he is to have no contact with the victims, not be in a caretaker role and undergo sex offender treatment and aftercare.  BRAZEAU was given concurrent jail time on the charges of INDECENT ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A PERSON WHO HAS ATTAINED 14.            

The charges stem from an incident involving a 23 year old woman and a 22 year old man in North Adams between May 15, 2016 and July 20, 2016.       

The investigation was conducted by members of the North Adams Police Department and state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
