News  Bristol Superior Probation Staff participates in Read Across America in two local schools

Bristol County Superior Probation staff traveled to schools in Fall River and New Bedford and read to children in kindergarten through second grade as part of Read Across America, a national program that promotes literacy in US schools. This is the second year the Bristol Superior Court Probation Department has participated in the event.

The Bristol staff read such books as "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie," by Laura Joffe Numeroff; "Green Eggs and Ham," "Horton Hatches the Egg," and "Ten Apples on Top," by Dr. Seuss to children at the John J Doran Elementary in Fall River and the new Carlos Pacheco Elementary School in New Bedford.

In addition to Bristol Superior Chief Probation Officer R. Ryan Blackburn, the following Probation employees participated: Assistant Chief Probation Officer (ACPO) Grace Monteiro, ACPO Lynette Butler, Associate Probation Officer (APO) Michelle Feitor Carlos, APO Hailey Gomes, Probation Officer (PO) Antonio Rodrigues, and PO Ross Roballo.
