Boston — State Auditor Suzanne Bump today released an audit of Action, Inc. found complete internal controls and compliance with the organization’s objectives and state obligations.
The audit of the Gloucester-based non-profit reviewed the period of October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2013.
Action Inc., was established in 1965 and primarily serves the City of Gloucester, and the towns of Essex, Ipswich, Manchester, and Rockport. During the audit period, Action Inc. operated a variety of programs and services related to: housing, homelessness, energy, income maintenance, education and training, and home care.
The Office of the State Auditor conducts technical and performance audits of state government’s programs, departments, agencies, authorities, contracts, and vendors. With its reports, the OSA issues recommendations to improve accountability, efficiency, and transparency.
