PITTSFIELDA Bronx, New York man was arraigned this morning in Central Berkshire District Court on a murder charge.  40 year old LANCE BURKE appeared before Judge Mark Pasquariello.   

BURKE entered a not guilty plea on one (1) count of MURDER.   Judge Pasquariello ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail.  BURKE will be back in Court for a pre-trial hearing on January 4, 2019.      

BURKE was arrested November 20, 2018 in Bronx, New York on an outstanding warrant charging him with MURDER for the November 3, 2018 shooting death of 30 year old David Green, Jr.  The shooting occurred in Pittsfield near the Spring and Willow Street intersection.  BURKE was arrested by members of the Pittsfield Police Department Detective Bureau and Anti-Crime Unit, assisted by members of the New York Police Department and agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.    

BURKE was charged in New York as a fugitive from justice and agreed to voluntarily return to Massachusetts. 

The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have information about the incident is asked to contact the Pittsfield Police Department Detective Bureau at (413) 443-9705.  Information can be provided anonymously via the Detective Bureau, the Drug Tips hotline at (413) 448-9708 or by texting PITTIP and your message to 847411 (TIP411).

The investigation is being conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department with the assistance from State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department.
