Press Release  Bynum appears in Court on a murder charge

PITTSFIELD — A Pittsfield man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on a murder charge.  20 year old JOSIAIAH T. BYNUM appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

BYNUM entered a not guilty plea on his behalf on one (1) count of FIRST DEGREE MURDER.  Judge Agostini ordered that he be held at the Franklin County House of Correction without the right to bail.   

The charge stems from the death of 22 year old Asiyanna Jones, in Pittsfield, on October 2, 2017.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department, with assistance from the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office, and State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force, the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section and the Massachusetts State Police Firearms Identification Section.
