PITTSFIELDA Pittsfield man was arraigned this morning in Central Berkshire District Court on several charges. 19 year old JOSAIAH T. BYNUM appeared before Judge Jacklyn Connly.

BYNUM had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO MURDER, one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN and one (1) count of DISCHARGING A FIREARM WITHIN 500 FEET OF A BUILDING. Judge Connly ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without bail. BYNUM will be back in Court for a pre-trial hearing on October 23, 2017.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department, with assistance from the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office, and State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force, the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section and the Massachusetts State Police Firearms Identification Section.
