PITTSFIELDA North Adams man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to a drug charge.  39 year old LUIS A. CARMONA a/k/a LUIS A. CARMONA, JR., LEWIS CARMONA, LOUIS CARMELLO, MAURICE THOMAS and LOUIS CARMONA appeared before Judge Daniel Ford.

CARMONA pleaded guilty to one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE.  Judge Ford continued the case without a finding for one year.  During that time, CARMONA is to refrain from using illegal drugs and undergo drug testing. 

The charge stems from the execution of a search warrant on Chase Avenue, in North Adams, on June 29, 2017.    

One (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.         

The investigation was conducted by members of the North Adams and Pittsfield Police Departments, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force.
