PITTSFIELD — A Springfield man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on drug and firearm charges. 36 year old SIRFRANCIS L. CARTHON (250 Century Street) appeared before Judge John Agostini.
CARTHON had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY WEAPON, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN DURING THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY, one (1) count of IMPROPER STORAGE OF A LARGE CAPACITY FIREARM, one (1) count of ILLEGAL OWNERSHIP OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN and one (1) count of POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION WITHOUT A FIREARM IDENTIFICATION CARD. Judge Agostini released him on $1,000 bail.
The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant in North Adams on May 1, 2018.
The investigation was conducted by members of the North Adams Police Department, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force.
