PITTSFIELD — A Pittsfield man was arraigned this morning in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges. 39 year old J C CHADWELL (62 Seymour Street) appeared before Judge John Agostini.
CHADWELL entered not guilty pleas on one (1) count of MURDER IN THE FIRST DEGREE and one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM. Judge Agostini ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail.
It is alleged that CHADWELL shot 39 year old Paul Henry, of Pittsfield, on July 4, 2017. The incident is alleged to have occurred on John Street in the vicinity of Durant Park.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department Detective Bureau with assistance from the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department, State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force and the Massachusetts State Police Firearms Identification Section.
