Probation staff from the Charlestown Division of the Boston Municipal Court (BMC) were among the volunteers who planted a dozen trees recently as part of the Speak for the Trees Peace Park Tree Planting project.

Probation Case Specialist Klea Alla and Specialty Court Coordinator Kerri Cianciarulo spent their Saturday working alongside other volunteers in this community engagement effort.

“Not only will this encourage the community and local partners to continue to use this space as a center of peace, healing, and growth; but, these improvements will also uplift larger conversations and participation,” said Ms. Alla. “Each tree we planted carries the hope of what we can achieve together.”

Speak for the Trees is a Dorchester-based non-profit that “aims to improve the health, size, and equity of Boston’s urban forest by working with residents to plant, preserve, care, and advocate for trees,” according to its website.
