Boston, MA — The State Ethics Commission on June 3 hosted a group of international visitors from nearly two-dozen countries participating in the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program. The visit focused on ethical standards and systems fostering transparency and accountability in government and was facilitated by WorldBoston, a World Affairs Council member.
During their visit, the program participants met with two Commission members and several staff and listened to staff presentations about the Commission and how it seeks to accomplish its mission of fostering integrity and public confidence in public service through ethics training, legal advice, and civil enforcement. The visitors’ many questions led to interesting, informative, and thought-provoking discussion that both the visitors and the hosts found enjoyable and worthwhile.
The State Ethics Commission is an independent, non-partisan state agency that administers and civilly enforces the provisions of the conflict of interest law and financial disclosure law.
