Location: Abington, MA
Date of Service: Ongoing
Marine Corps Veteran Travis Partington has dedicated his post-service life to amplifying the voices of Veterans, military families, and community advocates. After serving in the Marine Corps in the late 1990s, Travis noticed that too many powerful Veteran stories were going unheard — and he set out to change that.
In 2016, he launched Oscar Mike Radio, a podcast devoted to sharing the experiences and achievements of Veterans and their supporters. Since its first episode on July 22, 2016, Travis has produced more than 530 episodes featuring Veterans, advocates, and experts discussing everything from personal stories of service to Department of Veterans Affairs benefits and community initiatives. His program has become a trusted platform for connection, education, and empowerment within the Veteran community.
Building on this success, Travis partnered with Abington Veterans’ Services and Abington Community Access and Media (Abington CAM) to produce The Abington Veterans Muster, a community access television show that debuted on February 27, 2024. Created by Abington Veterans Service Officer Adam Gunn, the show spotlights local Veterans, shares important resources, and celebrates community efforts to support those who have served.
As both producer and host, Travis volunteers hundreds of hours conducting interviews, creating public service announcements, and promoting programs that uplift Veterans and their families. His work ensures that the contributions and needs of Veterans remain visible and valued throughout the Abington community.
In addition to his media work, Travis also serves as a member of the Abington Veterans Advisory Council, continuing his mission to advocate for and connect those who have served.
Travis’s dedication to storytelling and community service exemplifies what it means to be “Oscar Mike” — always on the move — for the good of our Veterans.
