Press Release  Correction: Burke arraigned on assault and drug charges, and NOT firearms related charges

PITTSFIELD — A Pittsfield man was arraigned the afternoon of October 30^th in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges.  25 year old JOSHUA P. BURKE (27 Thomas Road) appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

BURKE had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON (to wit: stick), and one (1) count of POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE.  Judge Agostini released him on personal recognizance. A previous press release indicated in error that BURKE was also arraigned on firearms related offenses.  BURKE was NOT charged with any firearms related crimes.         

The charges stem from an incident on Elm Street in Pittsfield on June 8, 2018. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
