Press Release  Cromartie arraigned on a murder charge

PITTSFIELDA Pittsfield man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on a murder charge. 31 year old JAMES CROMARTIE appeared before Judge John Agostini.

CROMARTIE entered a not guilty plea on one (1) count of MURDER. Judge Agostini ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail.

It is alleged that CROMARTIE shot and killed 30 year old James Dominguez III, of Springfield, near 129 Fenn Street in Pittsfield on January 23, 2016.

CROMARTIE was in possession of cocaine when he was apprehended on the murder warrant on October 16, 2017. He was also arraigned on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department, with assistance from the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office, and State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force, the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section and the Massachusetts State Police Firearms Identification Section.
