PittsfieldA Pittsfield man, who was the victim of a weekend shooting, has died. 

30 year old David Green, Jr. died this afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center from gunshot wounds he received Saturday morning.  An autopsy to determine the cause of death will be conducted at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Holyoke.

This is being treated as an active homicide investigation and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information about the shooting, which occurred about 9 a.m. Saturday near the Spring and Willow Street intersection, to contact them.  You may call the Pittsfield Police Department Detective Bureau at (413) 443-9705 or send a tip via text message, text PITTIP and your message to 847411 (TIP411).

The investigation is being conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department with the assistance from State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department.
