FRAMINGHAM — Following last week’s Presidential Disaster Declaration for the severe storms and flooding that occurred between September 11-13, 2023, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has published a new website to centralize information from FEMA on available federal assistance and address frequently asked questions.
Mass.gov/recover provides information on Individual Assistance available to residents and businesses in Bristol and Worcester counties through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which benefits survivors of a disaster by directly assisting those who have uninsured or under-insured necessary expenses and serious needs. The site also provides information on low-interest personal and business loans available through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
“Federal disaster assistance will provide much-needed support for residents who have incurred significant repair costs as a result of the flooding we experienced in September,” said Governor Maura Healey. “Our communities have been through so much and continue to experience the impacts of these storms. I hope that residents and businesses who were impacted by these storms find these resources helpful as they navigate their recovery journey.”
Visitors can learn if they may be eligible for assistance, how to apply for various types of aid, and what to expect through the process. The website will be updated regularly with the latest recovery center hours of operation and resources from FEMA and the SBA. MEMA encourages anyone impacted by the September storms to learn if they are eligible and apply for assistance.
“Application support is available in multiple languages, including ASL, and recovery centers are set up to be accessible to everyone’s needs,” said MEMA Director Dawn Brantley. “We hope this website will serve as another tool to guide individuals to federal resources that are available to assist Massachusetts residents in Bristol and Worcester counties.”
