PITTSFIELD — A Pittsfield man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges. 24 year old DAQUAN M. DOUGLAS appeared before Judge John Agostini.
DOUGLAS had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO MURDER, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON CAUSING SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON, one (1) count of ARMED KIDNAPPING WITH SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, two (2) counts of KIDNAPPING WHILE BEING ARMED WITH A FIREARM, two (2) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY, one (1) count of MISLEADING A POLICE OFFICER, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM DURING THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY and one (1) count of MALICIOUS DAMAGE TO A MOTOR VEHICLE. Judge Agostini released him on $10,000 bail.
It is alleged that DOUGLAS assaulted and shot a 19 year old man near Ashley Reservoir in Washington on August 21, 2018. It is also alleged he assaulted a 21 year old man and allegedly kidnapped the men and an 18 year old female during the same incident.
The investigation is being conducted by state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services and Ballistics Sections, forensic scientists assigned to the State Police Crime Laboratory, state troopers from the Lee and Cheshire barracks, members of the Pittsfield, Dalton, Washington and Hinsdale Police Departments and the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department.
