Matthew McDonough, Chief Probation Officer of the East Boston Division of the Boston Municipal Court (BMC), and Probation Officer Heather Rose recently shared information about the Massachusetts Probation Service (MPS) and its role in the courts and its outreach in the community during an orientation for new hires in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in mid-September.

CPO McDonough and PO Rose spoke about MPS’ mission which is “Protecting and Building Safer, Healthier & Stronger Communities.” They also presented on MPS’ goals and identified local resources for all court users.

“The presentation further identified collaborative strategies between the agencies to increase public safety and promote fair and equitable administration of justice,” said Chief McDonough.

The presentation is one of more than 80 community engagement efforts MPS staff have and continue to host throughout the state. Community engagement is a top priority of Probation Commissioner Pamerson Ifill and his Executive Leadership Team.Leadership Team.
