PITTSFIELDA Pittsfield man was found guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court.  The jury deliberated for about 12 hours over a three day period before returning its verdict against 42 year old OMAR ENRIQUEZ.

ENRIQUEZ was found guilty on one (1) count of DISSEMINATING HARMFUL MATTER TO A MINOR.  The jury found that he sent the girl, who is now 18 years of age, images and messages that contained sexual content.  The incident occurred in Pittsfield between late October and November 2016.  Judge John Agostini ordered that ENRIQUEZ serve a 2 and a half year sentence at the Berkshire County House of Correction.

The jury could not reach a decision on three (3) counts of RAPE AND ABUSE OF A CHILD AGGRAVATED BY AN AGE DIFFERENCE.  A mistrial was declared on those charges which could be retried at a later date.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
