Salem is considered to be the home of Halloween, and more than 100,000 people flock to the city every October to celebrate. This fun Halloween spirit is reflected in a display at Essex Probate & Family Probation Department in Salem.

The display was created by Essex Probate & Family PO Amy Kasprzyk, a Salem native; and yes, her favorite holiday is Halloween.

PO Kasprzyk first shared her creativity and talent when she designed a haunted house at MTOC (Massachusetts Probation Service Training and Operations Center) several years ago.

The Essex Probate & Family display features a mini graveyard and coffins, “Gouls and Goblins,” witches, cobwebs, werewolves, skeletons, and caution tape.

“I am happy to see that it puts a smile on people’s faces,” said PO Kasprzyk.

MPS and Trial Court employees as well as court-users may view it in the video below or in person at the court—between 8:30 am - 4 pm.—through November 12, 2025.
