Gardner District Court Probation staff and Central Massachusetts Veterans Treatment Court members turned out to share information about the court’s resources at Stand Down, the largest free veteran-focused resource fair in New England.

This June 12th event brought together Veterans, service providers, employers, healthcare organizations, and community partners for "a day dedicated to support, connection, and opportunity," according to Diane Massouh, Gardner District Court Chief Probation Officer.

"We were there to inform veterans of services should they need us and to recruit veterans to join our Veteran Mentor Program to help reinforce and support our veterans in the Veterans Treatment Court," said Chief Massouh. "It was a fantastic day meeting all of the Veterans and Providers in attendance."

The first graduate of Central Massachusetts Veterans Treatment Court, Megan Powell, was the recipient of a free car from the Second Chance Cars Program. Second Chance Cars is a Massachusetts nonprofit that provides affordable used cars to working people in need, many of whom are veterans, returning citizens and single parents.

"The CMVTC Team is extremely proud of Megan's success!," Chief Massouh said.
