Press Release  Garnett found guilty, sentencing later this month

PittsfieldA Pittsfield man was found guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on a drug charge.  The jury deliberated for about three hours before returning its verdict against 30 year old RASHARD S. GARNETT. 

GARNETT was found guilty on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE.  Judge John Agostini released him pending sentencing which will occur July 25th.     

The charge stems from the execution of a search warrant on West Street, in Pittsfield, on March 22, 2016.    

GARNETT was found not guilty on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE and one (1) count of DRUG VIOLATION WITHIN A DRUG FREE PARK ZONE. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department, the Berkshire County Sherriff’s Department and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force.
