PITTSFIELDA Springfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to drug charges.  32 year old TERRENCE GIBBONS a/k/a TERRENCE GARNER appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

GIBBONS pleaded guilty to one (1) count of TRAFFICKING IN COCAINE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense), one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, one (1) count of RECKLESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE and one (1) count of FAILURE TO STOP FOR A POLICE OFFICER in connection with a motor vehicle stop in Lenox on February 26, 2015.      

GIBBONS also pleaded guilty to one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS.  He admitted conspiring with others to sell drugs in Berkshire County between January 20, 2015 and March 6, 2015.   

Judge Agostini ordered that GIBBONS serve concurrent 6 to 6 and a half year sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the charges of TRAFFICKING IN COCAINE,  POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense) and CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS.  He was given concurrent house of correction time on the motor vehicle offenses.     

Two (2) counts of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield, North Adams, Dalton and Lee Police Departments, Deputies from the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department and State Troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force.
