Boston — Ahead of her visit to Logan Airport today, Governor Maura Healey issued the following statement on Donald Trump’s federal government shutdown, which means that nearly 2,000 TSA agents and air traffic controllers at Logan are working without pay.

“This afternoon, I will be at Logan Airport to thank the federal employees who show up to work each and every day to keep people safe and make sure everyone gets where they need to go. It's terrible that they have been working without pay because of the federal shutdown. And now, President Trump won’t even commit to ensuring federal workers get back pay once the government reopens,” said Governor Healey. “These public servants have families to provide for and bills to pay – and they’re continuing to show up to do their jobs. I want them to know that we see them, we appreciate their service, and we are going to fight to make sure they get the pay they have earned.”
