Press Release  Harding sent to prison after being found guilty on rape and kidnapping charges

PITTSFIELDA Marcy, New York man, found guilty September 21st, was sentenced this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court.  The jury deliberated for about 2 hours before returning its verdict against 29 year old SHANE E. HARDING. 

 HARDING was found guilty on three (3) counts of RAPE and one (1) count of KIDNAPPING.  Judge John Agostini ordered that he serve concurrent 18 to 20 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the RAPE charges.  HARDING was given a concurrent 8 to 10 year state prison sentence on the charge of KIDNAPPING.   His Massachusetts sentence will begin after he completes any time he is currently serving in the state of New York.

 The jury found that HARDING kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 28 year old woman in Hancock on September 30, 2014.
