PITTSFIELD — A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges. 28 year old LOUIS S. HOFFMAN appeared before Judge John Agostini.
HOFFMAN pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON in connection with an incident on Appleton Avenue, in Pittsfield, on January 20, 2017.
HOFFMAN also pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO ROB and one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON and in connection with a robbery at the Gulf Station on Wahconah Street, in Pittsfield, on February 8, 2017.
Judge Agostini ordered that HOFFMAN serve concurrent 4 to 6 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correction Institution at Cedar Junction on the charges of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO ROB and ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON. On the ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON charge, HOFFMAN was given a concurrent 4 to 5 year state prison sentence
One (1) count of HOME INVASION, one (1) count of ARMED ROBBERY WHILE MASKED and two (2) counts of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
