Boston, MA — William James College has announced that the Hon. Margot Botsford, a former Associate Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, is a 2025 recipient of the college’s Mental Health Humanitarian Award. Justice Botsford has served as Chair of the State Ethics Commission since 2023.

“A distinguished jurist and champion of justice, Justice Botsford has demonstrated a deep commitment to the intersection of mental health and the legal system, ensuring equitable treatment and support for individuals with mental health challenges,” the college said in announcing the award. According to the college, award recipients are recognized for “exceptional leadership, philanthropy, and commitment to breaking down barriers to mental health services, foster inclusivity, and drive meaningful change.” 

Justice Botsford and the other Mental Health Humanitarian Award recipients will be recognized at a ceremony on May 8 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston.
