VERMONTA Pittsfield man, wanted in connection with setting several fires over the weekend, appeared in a Vermont Court this afternoon.  58 year old PHILLIP J. JORDAN was arraigned on a fugitive of justice charge.

JORDAN had a not guilty plea entered on his behalf and the Court set bail in the amount of $25,000.  The Court continued the case pending an examination of JORDAN to determine his competency to participate in court proceedings regarding his fugitive status.

JORDAN is facing three (3) counts of BURNING A DWELLING HOUSE in connection with fires at homes on Appleton Avenue, Ridge Avenue and Fort Hill Avenue.  Those fires were set September 22, 2018.  The investigation is continuing and more charges may be pending.
