PITTSFIELD — A Peru man was found not guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges. The jury deliberated for about one hour before returning its verdict against 24 year old DYLAN J. LITCHFIELD.
LITCHFIELD was found not guilty on one (1) count of MAYHEM, one (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO MURDER and one (1) count of AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON in connection with an incident in Windsor on June 13, 2016 which allegedly involved a 29 year old man.
20 year old AUSTIN LITCHFIELD, of Peru, was also on trial. He was facing a charge of ATTEMPT TO COMMIT MURDER in connection with the same incident. After the evidence in his case was presented to the jury, Judge John Agostini approved a defense motion to enter a directed finding of not guilty on that charge.
The investigation was conducted by state troopers assigned to the Cheshire barracks.
