PITTSFIELD — A Springfield man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges. 20 year old DENZEL M. LAFAYETTE a/k/a DENZEL M. LAFAYETTE-SALEM (11 Newport Street) appeared before Judge John Agostini.
LAFAYETTE had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on two (2) counts of RAPE AND ABUSE OF A CHILD, two (2) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY, one (1) count of POSING A CHILD IN A STATE OF NUDITY, one (1) count of DISSEMINATING VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD IN A STATE OF NUDITY, one (1) count of DISSEMINATING MATTER HARMFUL TO A MINOR and one (1) count of POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. Judge Agostini released him on $250 cash or $2,500 surety bail.
The charges stem from incidents involving a 16 year old girl in Pittsfield and North Adams and are alleged to have occurred between October 21, 2015 and March 30, 2017.
The investigation was conducted by State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
