Cape and Islands District Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe announced today that on July 19, 2019, Daryl L. Lehtola (d.o.b. 10/12/1981) of Brockton, plead guilty in Barnstable Superior court to felony indictments for Aggravated Rape of a Child, Rape of a Child and Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child Under Fourteen.

The Honorable Diane C. Freniere sentenced Lehtola to 15-17 years in state prison on the Aggravated Rape of a Child (5 year age difference/victim under 12) conviction and 5 years probation from and after the committed portion of the sentence on the Rape of a Child and Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child Under Fourteen convictions.

The charges stem from a series of Rapes that occurred between 2014 and 2015, when the victim was between 8-10 years old. The defendant committed these Rapes with another, whose case is still pending.  The case was investigated by the Yarmouth Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jessica M. Croker.
